We are kicking off a new feature here at MobileBurn.com where we share some of our favorite apps on various platforms. To start things off, I have picked Slice as the Best iPhone App Ever for this week, as it came in quite handy during the recent holiday shopping season.

Slice offers an easy way to track and manage all of your online purchases and orders. Since its ties in with your Google or Yahoo! email account, it automatically pulls shipping information from each order receipt and provides notifications as to when an item is out for delivery or when it has been delivered. You can also directly view your package on a map and see your purchase history. The best part? You never have to type or copy and paste a tracking number ever again.

There are times where Slice gets confused, like when I add money to my Starbucks card and it shows that I have an undelivered item for a week, but, for the most part, it is quick to update and reliable. I would also like to see support for other email services in the future, because if you don’t use Gmail or Yahoo! Mail, Slice won’t work.

Slice is free and works with the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch with iOS 4.2 or later. Head on over to the iTunes App Store to grab it and check out the video below for a quick look at Slice.

“Best App Ever” is a feature on MobileBurn.com where we point out some of our favorite apps. They don’t have to be new, but they will be applications that we actually use ourselves and truly like. If you have an idea for an app we should check out, contact us here.
